Sint-Gillis-Dendermonde (2021)

Various leisure services and KASK organized a second edition in 2021. This time, the interventions were placed in the district of Sint-Gillis, concentrated in the core area between Serbos and Kroonveldlaan. In this way, they form the link between the already iconic street art piece by David Walker (Boonwijk, Serbos) and that of Christoph Malfliet (Kroonveldlaan).

Kitsune Jolene

In December 2017, Jolien De Waele, alias Kitsune Jolene, bought her first spray cans. Since then, she has developed into a talented street artist. Her recognizable style features saturated colors, with pink as a recurring shade. Her themes are based on Japanese mythology and folklore, which also inspired her Eastern-sounding artist name. “Kitsune” is the Japanese word for fox, and in mythological tales they are portrayed as intelligent beings with magical powers, known for their ability to take on the form of a young woman.

KYMO ONE

KYMO ONE’s mission is to create murals in public spaces to make art accessible to the widest possible audience. Public accessibility guarantees interaction with both casual passersby and intentional visitors. KYMO ONE’s work is inspired by an interest in (ancient) traditions, religions, and symbolism, specifically the sculptures and artworks that stem from them. Essentially, most of these works were created with the intention of connecting the “ordinary person” with the grandeur of a deity.

Drukdoenerij

Hans De Backer has always worked in the advertising sector: first as a graphic designer, later as an art director in a creative brainstorming duo, and then as a conceptual creative and studio manager. He also has a passion for artisanal work: screen printing and letterpress. This combination led to the founding of the company “Drukdoenerij.” The design “9200” is his creation. Those watching from the side see not only a skillful play, but also colors and lines dancing before their eyes, forming the famous numbers of Dendermonde’s postal code! The hypecourt was created with the help of many volunteers.

Nutskasten
