The Guild giant Mars represents the Roman god of war and was rediscovered during the Renaissance. He appears as the war god, holding a sword in his hand and wearing a helmet on his head. It is a pseudo-Roman helmet topped with a winged dragon. Mars was carved in 1648 by the Mechelen sculptor Valentyn Vander Lantscroon.
Mars was the giant of the Saint Andrew Musketeers’ Guild. He is 3.70 meters tall and weighs 103 kg.
