The street art project Viewmasters took place for the first time in the center of Dendermonde in 2018. It was a great success, with art displayed on various facades in the city center. Many of these works are still on display today.

David Walker
David Walker is a London-based artist who works with layered spray techniques applied to the surface. The resulting bright and monumental portraits are surrounded by a bold, explosive color palette. The contrast between the sharpness of the face and the scribbled lines and abstract shapes around it creates a unique whole. With his work, Walker aims to break down all prejudices about urban and visual art. His work can be found in global cities such as Lisbon, New York, Hong Kong, Paris, and London, and he is regarded as an internationally renowned artist.

Joëlle Dubois
Joëlle Dubois is an illustrator and visual artist from Ghent. Playful use of color and a touch of humor characterize her work, which explores the use and impact of social media. The playfulness and improvisational nature of her images reflect both the abundance and the fleeting nature of all the visuals circulating on these platforms. Joëlle Dubois critiques the appealing superficiality of uncritical consumption. Her paintings feature vivid colors and an exotic character that seems to glorify society’s glamour. She is fascinated by other cultures, which is reflected in her work.

Low Bros
Low Bros is a Berlin-based artist duo, consisting of brothers Christoph and Florin Schmidt, formerly known as Qbrk and Nerd. Their instantly recognizable geometric characters on walls and canvases often feature anthropomorphic animals wearing caps, sunglasses, or trendy jackets. They deconstruct animal images, transforming the heads of animals like wolves and tigers into block-like, architectural formations reminiscent of deconstructed graffiti letters.

Jaune
Jaune is a stencil artist and urban interventionist from Brussels. As a garbage collector, he noticed how much he blended into the city’s scenery. No one spoke to him, no one really noticed him. This duality between the visible and invisible carries through his stencil art. He lets brightly colored little garbage men wander boldly through humorous, absurd settings, sometimes making sharp social commentary. Those responsible for keeping the city clean suddenly create a mountain of chaos.
