On Sunday 6 September 2026, Sint-Gillis-Dendermonde will once again be painted in a thousand shades of dahlias as the annual flower parade moves through the streets. This year, everything is themed Flora Futura, a visionary mix of nature, evolution, and futuristic creativity.
What began as a local “flower procession” has grown into an impressive tradition, bringing together more than a million dahlias, surprising 2D and 3D creations, and a lively parade of performers, dance groups, and show bands. The parade tells stories, evokes emotions, and unites generations in a unique piece of intangible cultural heritage.
